Ravel is one of my favorite composers. As several other French composers were, he was fascinated by the exotic Spanish venue for imaginative source. Ravel's mother being a Basque, surely have added to this. His Rapsodie espagnole is a fantastic piece, with ingenuity. Each one of the four movements is a jewel. I just loved it.His "L'heure espagnole" is a beautiful opera, full of bright moments. Ravel has written the vocal score in 1907 on a text by a funny playwright and completed the orchestration two years after. First premier was in 1911 in Paris. Both pieces are performed perfect.I recommend this CD to all music lovers.
