Excellent idea on renting a book over purchasing it. I was a bit skeptical as I always am when it comes to used books but am extremely happy with this purchase. The book brand new from the bookstore would have cost me almost $300. I only use the book three months and then no longer need it (besides for research or refreshers). This time I decided to rent the book. The quality is great and much better than I imagined. I only have two terms left but will be renting my books from now on from ~
The authors should be ashamed to write and publish such a terrible text book. It is slow reading due toan over-reliance of formulas and under-reliance on explanations. You know the book is badwhen you can't get the same answers on the test questions provided. Few real-world examples. The bestpolite word I can use for this book is turgid.Quantitative Methods/Probability and Statistics should be fun and interesting. This book managesto take all the fun and interest out of this subject. I took 4 years of Statistical Analysis asan undergrad and got A+ grades. I can't figure out what the hell this book is saying and the subjectmatter hasn't changed much at all.Plus the use of Microsoft Excel is an additional burden. Excel is a horribly designed product. It was neverdesigned to do advanced probability and statistics. Trying to develop advanced and complex formulas in it is harder than it should be.This book is a complete waste of time and money. In the class I'm taking, it's clear the professor didn't read the book before assigning it. That's a subject for another time.
The book contains useful examples and was easy to use. There are still some errors in the solutions to problems that were in previous additions and some spelling errors where "receipt" is spelled "receipt" and "reciept." It looks like someone proofread the text but not the tables and case studies. Overall, for learning quantitative methods it was a good book and I plan to keep it handy.
This vendor sucked.... They did not indicate it was being shipped from outside us paid for it on oct 8th just got it nov 15th... The ad said it included the disk with the book it did not. It came with no paperwork no return paperwork and the class is half over....
Great! The product was totally what I was expecting to get and I paid less than what I would have paid at the bookstore.
The access card was invalid and had been used before, the purpose was to have the access card as well. Don't get this book with the access card, not worth it. Three other students said theirs didn't work either after renting with a 'unused access card'.
The book was allright, way cheaper to buy used without the acess card then to buy at a book store, since i only used half of the book during the semester :) Was in good condition and still is.
is always reasonably priced and timely. Hasn't failed me yet! As for the book, much easier read than most stat books. Provides great explanations.
