My 10 year old still love these Big Nates book series. He was so excited to get this book today. This book is written in a comic book type format. All pages have bold and vibrant colors that make all the pages pop out. He even loves the pull-out poster that's included in the back of the book. :-)
Nate and his friends are highlighted in events in their everyday life. In this book, Lincoln Peirce used a "comic book" style approach to depicting events with Nate and his friends. There are colorful illustrations and speech bubbles. It is a humorous book to read. It is interesting to see how the author takes every day events that could happen and turns them into humorous situations.The topics of the various stories within the book is detention hall for Nate after school, the yard sale, the Sadie Hawkins dance with Kim taking him to it, summer vacation, the rope swing and baseball. The title REVENGE OF THE CREAM PUFFS illustrates the fact that Nate and his friends have an unusual team name but they show everyone their strength during the game.This is an easy and funny book to enjoy for any older child who enjoys reading.*I received this for review - all opinions are my own*
This book is hands down the best Big Nate book I have ever read. It is a short book which is a little disappointing, but the content in the book is what matters. My favorite book is when the miracle happened in the League Championship. I don't want to spoil the book for people who haven't read it yet so I am not going to tell you who won the game. What I am going to tell you is this book is worth the money to spend to read it.
