My college bookstore sells this book with Connect access under the same ISBN, but I thought I would save a few dollars and buy it from instead. The description led me to believe that a Connect code would also be included with this book. I did see the other reviews stating otherwise, but figured they ordered it used or from a 3rd party and that is why the code wasn't included. I made sure to purchase a "new" book "shipped and sold" by , but still no Connect code. I now have to pay an additional fee for Connect. It would have been cheaper for me to purchase a new copy with Connect from the college bookstore or maybe I would have purchased a used copy of the book on if I'd have known Connect was not included. The book description could be worded a little better. Rating three stars as I do not yet have an opinion of the book itself. I may change the rating as I work my way through the book.Note: The book does mention a 3-week free trial of Connect for those who want to try it before spending more money. However, Connect access is a requirement in my class.Update: Looks like the product description has since changed and there is even a note saying that it is a standalone book. I'm glad the description has been updated.
IT DOES NOT COME WITH THE CODE TO GET ACCESS TO CONNECT PLUS+!!!!! I WAS SOARLY DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED. JUST 5 DAYS FROM THE START OF CLASS!!!!!.
My first book didn't contain a access code that I needed for my class. I contacted after receiving the book and they shipped me a new one. Luckily the new one they shipped me had the access code. If you have this problem contact support.
As mentioned do not buy this book if you are looking to save money. It does not include connect code, as quoted in description.
The seller describes this book as NEW and leads one to believe that it comes with all the original materials. This book is supposed to come with an access code that you will NEED for the online portions of your class. My book did not come with a Connect Code like a new book should have, and to buy the code online now will cost another $70.00! Add that to the already high price for this book, almost $200.00 and you can just outright call that unethical practices and a disregard for social responsibility.
I ordered this book expecting an access card. When you purchase a NEW Textbook, it is expected to be wrapped. This was not TWICE. I returned the first and received a second non wrapped textbook. At this price it is a rip off to not get the access card. The other reviews make the decision to order confusing. Some get the card some don't. New books should be wrapped, therefore the card would be with the book. If I didn't want the card I would have rented or bought used. One good thing customer service was efficient, they didn't fix the problem, but did provide return labels for both books. I feel is misleading the buyer on this product. This is the first time I've ever encountered a problem with , very disappointed.
This is the class I am currently taking this semester. The chapters are hard to read, and I have found it's easier to listen to the teacher lecture and then go back over the chapter; it makes more sense that way. It's been an interesting class!
this book is laid out ok, can be difficult to follow at times. It took my a little longer than usual but I did eventually grasp and understand it. It could be laid out better and presented better, but I have seen worse
