My children (5 year old girl & 7 year old boy) & I read this during our study of the ancient Maya and Aztec people in our homeschool (kindergarten and 2nd grade). I could have given it to my 2nd grader to read by himself although some of the Aztec words and Spanish names would have been to hard for him to sound out, but we read it aloud as a family. Both of my children really in joyed it and I also learned some things as well. We really like these books because they give you several different endings depending on the choices you make along the way. We always go back and change our choices till we follow each path till the end. It makes learning the information a lot more fun than just hearing it dry out if a textbook. I highly recommend these books we have read several and have I joyed every one.
Great book series. I am using them as a read aloud to supplement our home school story of the world curriculum. The kids love making the choices and seeing their fate. I love that it has pictures within the text. I plan to buy the next era of books next year.
