It seems that the other reviews aren't really for the book at all, but for personal short-sightedness or bad service. I'd like to offer a review that actually talks about the BOOK.This workbook is great, especially for people who are hands-on. My French class uses online homework, which is fine, but there's something more helpful about having to write it down yourself. The workbook offers answers in the back and the exercises are challenging, yet doable. I also feel that the workbook's exercises help you apply the French that you're learning really well. When my teacher offered worksheets from this workbook to do in class, I found that what we were studying stuck better in my mind. I would recommend this workbook, and it's a shame they don't offer it as an option to buy at my university bookstore. (I'm actually using the workbook as a brush-up from a summer of no French while heading into a second year of classes.)
Having completed Rosetta Stone French v3 and now "starting over" with Vis-a-Vis French, I'm finding the workbook and online materials to be very helpful for home study purposes.
Bought this for an intermediate French class. It's an okay French textbook workbook. I like the fact it has a key in the back, so you can check your work but actually doing the work just felt like busy work and I felt no benefit from the exercises.
For all the supplementary materials to vis-a-vis, I like the workbook the best. It provides good exercises to allow us to really grasp the concepts.
Even though this workbook has the option of being bundled with the textbook, don't buy them together. I needed the 3rd Edition, but ended up getting a 3rd edition textbook and 2nd edition workbook. Just buy them seperately and you'll be ok, just make sure you know what you're getting before you click buy.
I bought this for my class and I think it is helpful when you are learning. The price is a lot of cheaper than in the bookstore.
Very detailed descriptions and vocabulary, grammar and verbs. Very descriptive and comes with mmhe.com/visavis5 audio learning!! It is a good tool if you want to learn French, although a bit pricey.
Book is in good condition but almost all chapters are already filled out and marked up. Disappointing to pay such almost eighty dollars and not be able to use the workbook as the course requires. Instead having to look at exercises and write the answers on my own paper. Would not recommend purchasing these workbooks used.
