I would NOT recommend this for a beginner--you simply have to go slower and spend more time building vocabulary. But if you've studies German in the past and need to re-learn the grammar, it's a decent option. The vocabulary is suitable for travelers or someone who plans to move there. I was a little put off by the attempts to simplify grammatical terms, but I'm a language junkie and probably not typical of language learners. Overall a reasonable way to get back into the language.
