This is a nice early word recognition board book, part of a series, with simple pictures and names of eight objects (butterfly, frog, airplane, friend, flower, and moon). The nice feature of this book is that on the left page the object is given alone, and on the right it is drawn in a context where a toddler is interacting with it. The drawings are simple, but detailed enough to help the child learn something about the objects. Because it doesn't tell a story, I recommend it as a library checkout -- the word recognition phase of reading development is relatively short and parents want babies to get familiar with booksthat can later become read-alouds.
Great book for wee ones. The images are realistic and simple. I love that these books aren't busy like so many books. It helps my daughter focus on one thing at a time to have simple things to look at. This will also be great when she is first learning words.
I bought this book for my son when he was 8 months old and he loved it. This is the perfect book for a baby. The pictures held my sons interest and the simplicity of the story was ideal for his short attention span. A very sweet story book.
Love this series of baby cardboard books but they are not published anymore. Too bad, they are the BEST! Baby books are now small editions of books for older children which is not appropriate!
I bought several Helen Oxenbury books as a much appreciated baby present. This exploration of the sense of sight includes familiar objects and clear, visually appealing illustrations.
Cute series of books. I purchased several for my grandson's first birthday. The pages are thick cardboard and appear sturdy enough to withstand the demands of a toddler.
the book is a little bit boring,I bought the whole series, and my daughter just spent 3 minutes reading it since it sit in the shelf for one year.
My grandbaby loves all the books within this series. They are easy for her to open and she loves the pictures, and mimics the character's actions.
