This book is a beautiful journey for your baby and preschoolerabout all those body parts that they love to identify- ears, and noseand toes etc. Further, the illustrations are large and inviting. The most wonderful part of this book is that the children are black and white and asian- they all have noses and ears and eyes, but they don't all look alike. The children look like all of us- different and beautiful. This book conveys more then where your nose is- through illustrations, it introduces and reinforces for our children that everyone is different and that these differences are beautiful and important END
I used this book to teach Kindergarten students various body parts. These were ESL (English as a Second Language) students. They loved the book. They laughed when I modeled how to give a kiss and they jumped up and down for the leg movements. Great fun! When I used it, I was being observed for my national standard evaluation. My professor was very impressed with the book. She said it covered language arts, science, and math standards. I highly recommend this book for any Kindergarten class.
After checking out this book at our library three times, I decided to finally buy this book for my one year old. We read the book daily, and she now mimics the children in the book. As we come to the appropriate page, she plays peek-a-boo, claps, holds up one finger to count along, and blows kisses to the children in the book. It's rare to find a children's book so well written.
This book has been my 18 month old's favorite for about six months now! She anticipates every page and we do movements along with the story. Most of it rhymes really well...and it is FUN to read with her. I would recommend this book for the 9 months-2 year old crowd. You won't be disappointed if you love reading with your children!
I really liked the illustrations but the story didn't flow very well at times and at some points just fell flat. I will use the book and hopefully have fun with my son pointing to our body parts and acting out the motions in the book... its just not as good as I wanted. But, I have not really liked any of the body part books I have seen so far... I guess its just a hard topic to put into a book.
Love this book. The illustrations are very cute and the words all rhyme, which appeals to my little one. We started reading this pretty early on and it definitely helped her learn. She's older now and loves acting out all of the pictures as I read.
We have this book we got as a gift for one of our babies. That one grew up, and now I am reading this book to my smallest baby. She loves the book. What I like about it is that reading it is very natural. A parent doesn't need to think of what to say or do to interact nicely with the child. The book kind of guides you to help you exactly what faces to make, and what to say. Even a rookie parent can read this book to his/her child, and make it animated. You don't need to be a natural born actor, you will be able to act it out well just by reading the book - simple enough! The pictures in the book are very entertaining! I think I will keep this book on my shortlist of gifts to get when friends have babies, it is a great book all around! The poem in the book sounds fun, exciting, and what a great rhyme!
My Son is 19 months old and he LOVES this book! We first checked it out from the library, but we HAD to buy it, he like it so much.
