This review refers to the "Collected Bowdrie Dramatizations: Volume IIIFirst things first - as I stated in my title here - all L'Amour fans know and love, CHICK not Chuck Bowdrie (although he is actually a Charles) - pleeeeze , correct that in your subtitle.This six disc set has six Chick Bowdrie - Texas Ranger - stories to enjoy. 7 hrs . They are:#1 - Case Closed - No Prisoners#2 - The Killer From The Pecos#3 - A Ranger Rides To Town#4 - Rain On The Mountain Fork#5 - Down Sonora Way#6 - Strange PursuitThe first three stories(discs) are very, if not, too similar - and my only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. All have to do with Bowdrie solving cases of bank robberies/murders in small towns. Most of the story taking place in the town. I would suggest to go out of order of the discs - mix em up at bit - so as not to have such similar tales back to back to back - no matter how wonderful L'Amour's writing(and only he can pull that off so well) or how much you love Chick Bowdrie stories.Rain on the Mountain Fork is a wonderfully suspense filled story of several travelers who take refuge in an old cabin as the trail becomes impassable in a big rain storm. Enter Chick Bowdrie. He knows one of them is a killer, but which?Down Sonora Way is a great adventure. Chick and the man he pursues are at a standoff;neither will budge an inch. That is until a family fleeing from Apaches happens by. Can the Ranger and the outlaw work together to save the family?Lastly, one of my favorites: Strange Pursuit. Bowdrie puts his tracking skills - both physical and mental - to good use as he trails an infamous outlaw. Along the way, the people he meets tell him legendary tales of the man he tracks.
