I bought this book based on reviews that the content is good. It is very informative. The photos however leave little to be desired. This is the age of cameras having 20+ megapixels. Being a Smithsonian book, I expected professional and crisp shots. The photos in this book look like they were taken on a point and shoot then blown up beyond an appropriate resolution. The pictures are blurry, pixelated, and just terrible. Even the front cover...so disappointing. Sending it back!
Great ideas cool facts we read this orallly in class the facts are easy to remember and summarizeyou have super pictures
I really like this book because it has a whole lot of information. I like to collect information animal books. That's why I chose this book. Also, I want to become a scientist that studies animals because I'm always studying animals. That's why I like this book. I don't think without knowing what animals do, eat, and how you can take good care of one if they are sick.
If you are considering purchasing this book now, keep in mind the book is pretty old at this point and this is reflected in the dated photos and content. Contains some misinformation, probably due to it's age but perhaps also a pro-captivity agenda. There are better options these days.
I love this series of books. They have a LOT of information and are filled with really great photographs. The pictures help keep the kids interested as the amount of information can be overpowering or hard to follow for some kids. Especially in the body books by Seymour Simon. I'm actively trying to collect all of these by him under the Smithsonian.
Not a very thick book, but has nice thick pages and fabulous photography. My 9 year old ocean loving son really enjoyed it.
This book was a delight, my grandaughter loved it. It arrived in excellent condition, no issues. Would recommend it for anyone who has that special someone who love sea creatures.
You Can't miss with a Seymour Simon nonfiction book. They're Always clear, concise and interesting. All kids love his books.
