With bright colours, playful images and two ever-changing characters, this new lap book presents all kinds of opposites to consider and explore! Giovanni Manna's settings border on the surreal as the children turn into contrasting objects, animals, landscapes and moods. This new large-format board book is perfect for reading to little ones! Children will enjoy the fantasy of this book and be inspired to go beyond the text in their own opposites game. It is perfect for reading aloud to even the smallest children, as it never varies from its lilting pattern and rhyme.

As the mother of a child with Autism I have to be very thoughtful about what books we introduce to our son so as not to overwhelm him. I originally purchased this book for his infant sister, however it has transformed into more than a simple opposites book. The pictures provoke thought and imigination and are splendidly done. (I'm a Tiger/You're a Bear- the little girl keeps her striped stockings and girly shoes, though she is a very recognizable tiger.) On the borders of each illustration are tie-ins you can use to inspire a more complete picture in your childs imagination. I also volunteer at my sons school and this is an All-Time Favorite with most of the kids, who are all much older than the 2-year old age recommended for You and Me. I have even gotten booed when I walk into a classroom and the kids spot that I do not have this book under my arm. One of the teachers told me after I had read it to her class 8 or 9 times that even she has gotten a little giddy when I arrive with it because the kids are calmer and SO mesmerized by the simple word combinations. It's more than opposites, it's opposites outside the box.

Lovely, lovely illustrations paired with a short and sweet manuscript which acknowledges the differences between the two children in this book. "You and Me" is sure to open up dialogue and promote creative thinking while encouraging young children to accept themselves while also accepting others.~DeeDee Fox, Author and Illustrator, The Ruby Red Slippers

Great book--it's become a staple bedtime book with my niece and nephew. Both love completing our sentences when we read it to them, and looking at the detail of the pictures. Fabulous book, and great gift for a new baby.
