This book is ok. My baby basically only likes looking at the charming little girl on the front cover, which is by far the best photo.There are ten babies in the book. The emotions depicted are silly, serious, laughing, crying, frowning, smiling, worried, happy, awake, and sleepy. The emotions match the pictures, except I think the sleepy baby looks confused.Most photos have a solid color as the background with some blurred backgrounds. The photos are not of the best quality, but the children are diverse. There are six girls, and five boys. About three of the children look South Asian, two look East Asian, four children look African American, one child looks white (with Downs Syndrome), and one baby looks Pacific Islander (but he could be many other things of course).
Excellent way to teach my autistic toddler emotions. If you are looking to do the same, this book is simple and perfect. Pictures inside our of real kids with real expressions. Great book
I purchased this for my grandson! I love that it has photos of children of all races. Very simple & cute. Board books are easy to handle & durable for little ones.
My Hebrew isn't that great so maybe I'm wrong on this but I'm fairly sure the Hebrew on each page is in the male form even though some of the baby faces are clearly female. So if you read this to your child as printed you will be reading the incorrect form of the word. Also the book is small - only about 5 in by 5 in. Disappointing.
This book is cute! And for the nay Sayers calling out "political correctness" I find nothing wrong with the ethnicities in this book. I am black, my son is black and Mexican so for him to see other ethnicities and learn the Hebrew words is a plus in my book.
I bought this book hoping that I would be able to use it to teach my daughter about different facial expressions to help her understand different feelings but I found that it really wasn't helpful at all. We looked through this book once and she has never shown any further interest in it.
Nice illustrations, variety of children & expressions. Sturdy book, well received by 3 mo old. Still enjoys at 1 yr. Taken with how strongly babies respond to the faces of other babies. Very happy with the product. Great first gift...
I grabbed this from our library, and out of the 10 books I picked up, this short, storyless book is my 10 month old's favorite. Definitely buying it. I love the diversity within the book, and the babies are very adorable.
