The quality of the recording is great, as is the narration - 5 stars there. I read the reviews about this book having a sad ending and it is indeed a very sad, but touching story. I was disappointed however, because the sad event occurs and then the book feels like is very abruptly ends. Perhaps when you are reading it, rather than listening to it being read, you can see you are nearing the end of the book and it won't be a surprise when it ends. Listening to it was different and I felt surprised it ended as it did. I found myself wishing for some additional lines to wrap the story up. It would have been nice to have the satisfaction of hearing some happy details after the sad ones. Still it is a good story. However, I don't know if my animal-loving daughters will want to listen to it after I warn them about the sad event.
I didn't like Stone Fox because of all the sad situations at the end. My favorite part was when a lot of caring at the end. the lesson I learned was always take the time to help someone else. I think I should recomend this book to someone that likes dog sled races because this book has two. If you like dog sled races you'll like this book.AP12 I realy like stone fox because it's realy intresting even though there are some sad parts but i think it's still good. My favorite part is when little willy enters a race. I think the lesson i learned is to never give up like when he never gave up on selling his farm when every one agreed sell the farm. I would reccomend this book to someone because there are some intresting parts happy parts even some sad parts. AP12
These are two wonderful stories well read. We fell in love with B.D. Wong on audio listening to him perform the "Runaway Ralph" series.
Great double story CD. My class really enjoyed these stories.
