I was initially a bit skeptical of the Pimsleur method because I heard that the lessons seemed to be about "picking up girls." There were some elements of the lessons that could be interpreted that way, but I found them to be the most effective method for learning Croatian thus far (I've tried online programs and more traditional method books).I was a little bit disappointed that the lessons didn't include some basic conversation vocabulary like "how are you", but there was a lot of useful information included in the lessons. I also wish there were more discs.
I went through this course before a trip to Bosnia and Croatia. It did teach me some basic things, but I feel like it mainly tried to teach me how to pick up women in bars, which was not useful for my trip.
