We own 13 lift-the-flap Karen Katz books. This one is my least favorite. I just don't like the art or the script."It's summertime! What will Baby see?""What's behind this curtain? Another winner from Karen Katz. Very fun to read! My 2 year old loves all her books and they've been favorites since she was 9 months old. The only issue I have is that the flaps are easy to rip out compared to other lift the flap books.
My 15 month old LOVES Karen Katz' Lift-the-Flap books!!! Since he was 10 months or so he's gone to these books whenever he wants to "read" on his own. He was so excited about Baby Loves Summer that he tore the first flap out the first time he read it, but that's nothing against the quality of the book - of all the lift-the-flap books my son has owned (and that's a lot, I promise!!!) Karen Katz' are actually the sturdiest. He's just crazy strong and gets really excited about these books!!! :)
We love Karen Katz books! I have all the season books - for my daughter's first year I got them as the seasons changed. She loves to look at the pictures and to play with the flaps. We got Where is Baby's Beach Ball to go with it.
Beautiful fun illustrations in happy colors. My baby loves it so much I bought most of the collection. I've also given it as a babyshower gift and one year old birthday gift as well and everyone loved it. Very cute fold outs on each page with a surprise. I am in love with this collection!
At this point my daughter has around 15 Karen Katz books...I picked one up at a Kroger of all places and then after finding her spellbound (the first one was the Valentine lift the flap one) we soon started collecting them as we discovered new and fun titles. She likes the lift the flap books the best out of all of them although she is reaching the age where she no longer just lifts the flaps over and over (and over and over and over again) but now she has ripped several flaps off completely...but that is to be expected. Until she is old enough to discipline about proper treatment of books it is more important she associates books with FUN. "Baby Loves Summer" is a very colorful and fun book. The flaps are all pretty large so they do not tear as easily as smaller ones can. I really recommend almost any Karen Katz book for younger toddlers/ older babies that are just starting out. Letting them participate in the "reading" gets them interested in books. That is my main goal with any board or "first" book and "Baby Loves Summer" does a great job.
My 3 year old daughter loves loves loves these books. The lift & flap on each page is her favorite part. They're short enough to keep her attention and the pictures are so colorful. She ask to read it along with all the others by Karen Katz again and again!!
My little girl loved her other book "Where is Baby's Belly Button" so I thought this would go down equally well. But she's not as keen on this book as she is on the other book.The picture are bright & beautiful nonetheless. And babies will like it.
