My daughter is in love with the show "Shimmer and Shine" and for Valentine's Day I bought her this. She absolutely loves it. The pictures are crisp and colorful and it even has to pages of shiny "Shimmer and Shine" stickers which of course she loved. They are already all used up the same day. It's an easy reader, but a little more than a new reader could probably handle so I'd say unless they have been reading for at least few months on their own, an adult or older sibling will have to read it to them. My daughter is only three so of course I read to her. I love that this show fosters understanding and being a good friend and the book is no different. This book tells the background story of who Shimmer and Shine are and how they make a genie lamp so they can grant wishes for someone. They grant wishes for a girl named "Leah". It's not too complicated for the younger audience and the artwork is beautiful. I would highly recommend this book for young and beginning readers.
My youngest loves this book and has asked me to read it to her many times. It's a nice short little book based on the cartoon, "Shimmer and Shine".

I like the book but it was much shorter than I expected. The stickers in the back were a big hit with my daughter!
