This CD recording by virtuoso pianist Valery Lloyd-Watts contains model performances of all pieces in the Suzuki Piano School Volumes 1 and 2. Valery Lloyd-Watts studied at the Conservatory of Music in Toronto and the Royal College of Music in London. She earned a Master of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin, where she studied with Paul Badura-Skoda. She co-authored the text Studying Suzuki Piano: More than Music, which was endorsed by Dr. Suzuki. In addition to her recordings of the complete Suzuki piano repertoire and other masterwork literature, she has been heard on radio broadcasts for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and National Public Radio (NPR). This is missing two songs that are in the revised Piano vol. 2 book. Buy an updated version of the CD or the volume 2 book with the CD.
I ordered this CD on Friday, standard shipping, and it was in my mailbox the very next day! Unbelievable! It is perfect. This version is based on the original Suzuki method and is not supposed to be used with other versions (i.e. New International Version, which is steering away from the original Suzuki songs/method). My whole family is learning piano from the Suzuki method and this CD is great for the listening part of the method.
Good quality recording, good price. however the playlists are of the older version and do not match with the international edition books by a few songs.
My 7 year old started taking piano lessons and her instructor uses the Suzuki books. She is doing GREAT with this book, I am highly impressesd! You have to get the book that includes the CD in order to get the full benefit and learning experience. I have already told a Co-worker about this book and he purchased it for his Niece. Great for any beginner.
It doesn't match the songs in the 2nd Suzuki book. That's pretty important for this method. Don't buy this CD.
This is the old version and shouldn't be purchased by new students. The songs are much faster adn the Twinkles are played very differently. Make sure you buy the new edition!!!
My kids, 5 & 7, are taking piano lessons and the teacher uses this method. So far it is great and they love it. If they practice you will get results!
