This is a cute book, but it is hard for an emerging reader (Kindergarten). I believe it will be fine in a year when my child's literacy and reading level is past the emergent phase and is able to better read by herself.

Complete with a dictionary of new fun words at the end this is a great early reader for any "sometimes" ballerina learning to read. Mia's big sister is a professional ballerina. When she and her friends tak a field trip to see her sister and gain some one on one instruction Mia feels ignored. It is the long way around to realize her sister is leaving her to dance because she already is impressed with Mia's skill. A great lesson for us all with fun illustrations. Mis is new to me, but a character I will look for again.

I bought this book after I brought my daughter to see the Nutcracker ballet. She wanted all books ballet!! WE are now huge fans of MIA! I love the fact that its a "my 1st reader" She's 5 and this is one of the books she practices her reading with every night. I ended up buying a bunch more in the MIA series. I really like them all.

My little girl loves these and are easy to read! We have all of them and love them, we read them all the time.
