These radio recordings are very enjoyable adaptations of several Charles Dickens Christmas stories, however it is very misleading to have the listing describe these as unabridged. It would be more accurate to state that these are the complete radio broadcast recordings, which I assume they are. The stories are most certainly abrigded. For instance, if you are a fan of Scrooge's nephew Fred, you will be very disappointed. He appears only in his visit to Scrooge's office on Christmas Eve; there is no visit by Scrooge and the Ghost of Christmas Present to Fred's home. The edit was most likely made so that the broadcast fit into the permitted air time, but it is a significant abridgement. Similarly, key story elements from The Cricket on the Hearth are missing. I did buy the unabridged audiobook to get more story information!The recordings themselves are entertaining as I said. The voice actors are skilled and bring the stories to life. I enjoyed adding these recordings to my holiday listening. I just wanted to warn that the recordings are dramatizations of the stories and are most certainly abridged.
