It works.
These CDs really emphasize speaking and understanding basic French language. They give opportunity for repetition and the French spoken on them is very understandable. I was able to learn some useful phrases for my upcoming trip to France and feel I have developed a little more ability to understand spoken French. I have been doing an online French course but that seemed to emphasize vocabulary, spelling, and grammar more and I was not learning to speak or understand the language. I would highly recommend these to anyone who wants to learn to speak some basic and useful French phrases.
It helped a bit but not as much as I hoped. Hard to get into at times.
