Printing the cards on both sides may save the publisher money, but it makes the cards practically useless.If you're going through the cards and want to set aside the ones they don't get right for more practice, you can't unless you only practice half of your facts.They also weren't methodical in how they did the cards. I am practicing addition facts with my son one group at a time. That is, we are learning all the +1's, then the +2's, etc. I want him to learn 1+3 as well as 3+1. You can't flip through the cards and pull out all the facts with 1 in them because some of the cards have "1" facts on both sides of the card.Then one side of the card is glossy and one side is not. Either you have to practice the "glossy" facts separately from the "dull" ones or the cards stick to each other (glossy sticks to glossy) if you get them turned the wrong way.They make look pretty, but they're not very useful.
We needed a comprehensive set of flash cards to quiz our soon-to-be 3rd grader over the summer. Other sets we found didn't go high enough in the equations, making them too easy. These are just right because they go up to 12+12. I also like them because they show the equation on the back side of the card in small print, so I can flash the card and know what the answer is supposed to be without turning it to face me. One side of the cards also has a glossy finish, which makes it easier to remember which ones you've done and how far you've gotten. We bought all four sets (+, - x, /) and I'm glad I did.
I just received this product and I am not sure if it will work for us. My intention was to have my 4 year old to learn additions in sequence, such as 1+1=2, 1+2=3 and so forth. I realized that some are missing, such as 1+4 then 1+6...It is missing 1+5. It feels like they are missing out intentionally, I am not sure. There are more than a few like that. So I am thinking about sending it back. Plus, just like someone else reviewed, the cards are written front and back. I guess if you are just doing a random addition quiz then it is alright to have all the cards mixed. For us for now, the sequence matters. So if these cards get all mixed up which will happen, re-ordering these number additions in sequence is going to be pain.
I bought these so my 7 yo could practice math facts. There's an equation on both sides with the answers to each in the upper left corner of the opposite side of the card. She has adhd and was getting distracted by this so I had to cover the answer with my thumb so she could focus on the equation I was showing her. No biggie. I have her a penny for each one she got right in 5 second which she then traded in for nickels, dimes and quarters.
I received these flash cards within two days of ordering them. My son is having a hard time doing math quick enough for the school system so we ordered these. We do 20 minutes a day of these and are happy with the results we are seeing. These cards are a littleLarger than normal playing cards and are color coordinated. I highly recommend these to any parent wanting to help their child in math.
the description is correct about the product 100% not waterproof but water resistant great to take with you for quick study not use permitted marker for it will not come off there are 2 math equations one on each side and the answer is on the top right hand corner
Simple flash cards that has helped our Kindergarten age child in his studies. We have found that these flash cards has helped our child and he is learning at a quick pace. We try to make it fun for him by presenting this as a game show. He is excited every time we do this.
We use these all the time with my daughter. They help to speed her up- in 2nd grade she is timed for 3 minutes and has to finish 80 problems in that time. These have helped boost her from 20 something to 50 something problems solved! She has mastered most of the easy ones, so now we only test her on the 9's and 8's to help speed her up.
