Indestructibles: Frere Jacques
ebooks Download

Indestructibles are the 100 percent baby proof, chew proof, rip proof, completely washable, and nontoxic series of books.  Books built for the way babies read, Indestructibles are printed on an amazing nontoxic, paperlike material that holds up to endless chewing, gumming, gnawing, grabbing, bending, and pulling. Then, once the books get dirty, parents can throw them in a dishwasher or washing machine to make them clean as new. The title is adapted from classic nursery rhymes and illustrated by Jonas Sickler. Sickler’s paintings are whimsical and fun, filled with dazzling textures and eye-popping color. They will grab and keep a baby’s attention, and delight adults. The book offers a multicultural twist on a classic nursery rhyme -- in Frere Jacques, a sleeping pastry chef dreams of bonbons and crêpes flying over the streets of Paris. The text for the nursery rhyme is printed on the back cover.

The illustrations in this book are really very cool. They have absolutely nothing to do with Frère Jacques, but they are cool. My biggest beef with this book is that the words are all printed on the back! Could this have to do with the fact that the only "morning bells" featured are in a chocolate/candy Nôtre Dame cathedral? Very strange. So there really is no "reading" this book to your child. My baby loves me to sing it to her, but the book is useless except for her to just study it.That being said, the "indestructibles" part of the book is very cool. I can let her play with it and chew on it and do whatever she wants without worrying that she's either going to destroy it completely or swallow a mouthful of paper. I want to look into the other Indestructibles books and see if any of them have actual words printed inside the book, in which case I will be thrilled out of my mind to buy them. Just not all that impressed with this one, overall.

I have to give my son a 'decoy book' every night when we read stories since he's constantly trying to eat the book I'm reading. When I heard about these, I was doubtful, so I got one from the library. My son loved it SO much, and it lived up to the hype so well that I went ahead and purchased this one, which is full of colorful and trippy candy scenes. While it's not _easy_ to wash, it certainly is washable. Since there are pages, I can't stick it in the dishwasher, but I might try it in the washing machine with a load of laundry next time I clean it. It feels like it's made out of those un-rippable tags you find on your pillows and mattresses. You know, the ones that are a giant headache to rip off so you end up destroying the seam of your mattress while they stay perfectly intact. So far my son has played tug-o-war with it, chewed it, attempted to saturate it with drool, ripped at it, you name it, and it's held together perfectly. It's gotten a bit wrinkly but that just adds to the charm. In addition to the above-mentioned attributes, the book is also super thin, which makes it fantastic to roll up and slip into a diaper bag. It travels well and is so cheap we have no problem getting multiple for around the house and the car.

I love the indestructible book but this particular title was not one of my favorites. It is very pink and very sweets related. The story of Frere Jacques to me as always about a monk- this one is about a parisian baker via the pictures (the book does not have words). I would recommend the baby peekaboo book over this one hands down. In general, the indestructible books hold up extremely well- I had no problems out of 8 months of use. They are slim and easily foldable to fit in your diaper bag or take on the road with you. My child spend hours with one of these books. Well worth the money!

We love the "Indestrictibles" books! They are the perfect "quiet" toy for when you're at an event and want to entertain baby without squeaks, jingles, and crinkles. (This is our main toy to play with during church.) You can wash the book in the washing machine or the dishwasher. We have three of these books, have had them for a few months, and have washed them several times. The pages DO get wrinkly with use, but that also adds a soft texture, and my baby seems to like the well-loved pages best. This is a great baby shower gift (especially for this cheap price, then paired with a "boring" gift like diapers). "Free Jacques" is whimsical and perfect for the baby with francophile parents!

I bought this as a gift for a friend having a baby after seeing it at a baby shower. The illustrations make me want to eat the book and I can imagine being fascinated with it as a child. There are no words in the book, but I think that is part of what makes it perfect for a small child.I didn't really try rip the so-called indestructible pages, since I didn't want to destroy something not meant for me, but their thinness makes the pages seem almost like regular paper, but there is definitely a special coating or treatment that makes them durable. I have a friend whose child has a similar-type book, and it has very wrinkled appearance but no tears.

I buy these for all the babies in my life. My kids have almost every one of the indestructibles. They will last a lifetime and then some. I love that I can literally throw it in the washing machine. Seriously a genius idea and a sturdy adorable product.

Baby loves these books. They are indestructible and holds our baby's attention. She's been into them since 3 months old and is now 11 months old. I love the open endedness of the books too. Our 5 year old improvises a new story every time she reads them to her.

I love these indestructibles books and this one is so cute. This is my second time buying this particular one as it is a gift for a new baby in the family. There are no words in these books, but the colors are vibrant and the illustrations are adorable- donuts, candy, etc. pages truly are chewable.
