This radio play version remains my favorite and we will be listening to it again on Christmas Eve. I have heard all the others, and this one just seems to have more heart and life to it, and doesn't give the feeling of actors standing in a warm studio in front of microphones. It is faithful to the book, and the Scrooge and Marley scene is absolutely frightening. The cast is perfect, and the music is outstanding, which one expects with Colonial Radio Theatre.
This is yet another well produced-directed-acted show in Colonial Radio Theater's incredibly diverse selection of radio dramatizations.J.T. Turner (A Night With Aesop, Father Brown) is pitch-perfect as Scrooge. You should be very familiar by now of the story of the miser who hated Christmas and is redeemed by his dead business partner and three ghosts of Christmas.Suffice to say this is one of many fine shows done according to the source material and simply another fine way to spend the holiday.
This is by far the best version of Charles Dickens Christmas Carol I have heard. This is very faithful to the narrative of the book. The voice actors, narrator, and music are all outstanding. If you like the Christmas Carol story, you will very much enjoy this Colonial Radio dramatization.
This is an exciting dramatization of one of the best Christmas stories ever. The Colonial Radio Theater is a very talented group that tells the story of Scroogein such a way that all ages are interested. Keep up the great work!!As a veteran homeschooler (16 yrs) I find all the Colonial Radio Theater cds very exciting forpresenting living history and literature. My boys loved them and now my grandsonis listening! Also I love the cover art.
Dickens wrote a classic, and Colonial Radio has created a masterful audio dramatization. Powerful, well acted, and they get bonus points for not messing with Dickens epic story. I highly recommend adding this to your holiday traditions list. Wouldn't we all be a little better off to remember the lessons learned by Scrooge through out the year and not just in late December?
