I bought these CDs because they were companions to the book, and because we had a listening component to the music class. I decided to get these so I didn't have to hunt and peck for music, and because we were working from the book, the music would be the most compatible. The music helped me to pass my listening assignments with flying colors.
I am pleasantly surprised by these CDs. I'm being forced to listen to them for a class, and they're actually not that bad. There's a good selection of music from different cultures; if I don't like one song, I usually like the next one.
Don't like the music much. Most of it is to old and dated. But I guess if you are taking a class with this and a textbook that goes together with it. It is manageable.
The price to rent was really hard to beat. I can borrow these cds until June which is the longest amount of time I have seen for a book/cd rental.
The CD set was required for my Music History Class. The sound quality is good and the CDs follow the textbook.
