Indeed,,Danielle,Steele continues to capture my heart...after how, many years? I love. the fantasy, the wealth and the solid story line. Winners is my current favorite since I have been a quadrapelegic,,and I am happy that ms. Steele has a leading character here in A Perfect Life who is blind. Thank you for another fine, fun, engrossing read. Now how long do we have to wait for the next one?
hated it she repeats herself so much it is annoying
Horrible dribble. It could have been written in one-third of the pages. Redundant. Oh yah, redundant. Did I mention the narrative was redundant? But that's probably not the worst of it. The worst was the flat, non-developed characters and a story line that was incredibly predictable.
Most of time when I write a review I just say wheather it is good or not,I dont think I will purchase any more danielle steel books these booksare so predictable and boring.I have read all her books with no exceptionand they are all the same. While I do like happy endings in books I wouldalso like some unexpected surprises to keep me interested,I heard oncethat she writes 4 or 5 books at once maybe this is the problem
I have been a huge fan and read every book the day they come out. however, this is the first time that I regret the purchase! Although the character of the blind daughter was great, the story line was dull at best. Definitely her worst book. Very disappointed as this is not her style of writing. An average read at best
Heroine is rich and powerful (usually quite snobbish), has several relationships throughout the years, then finally finds true love and has a second family at the end of her childbearing years. Ms Steel's plots are so predictable and boring, the only things that change from book to book are the characters' names and professions. There are so many grammatical errors, partial sentences, and repetitive and inconsistent information in Ms Steel's books, that I find them very hard to read anymore. Who is doing the editing?
SpoilersThis is a page turner but I could see the end of the book coming a mile away. Blaise is an international "star" journalist and commentator who has a daughter (Salima) due to type 1 diabetes. Salima who lives at a school away from home with a dedicated caregiver is very sheltered. Circumstances force Salima to leave the comforts of the school and the caregiver and move back home with her mother and a new caregiver. The new caregiver is an attractive man, Simon Ward, 15 years Blaise's junior and then the drama begins. Is he too young for anything permanent with Blaise? Will their exes cause complications? Unfortunately Salima seems to be lost in the shuffle and it's all about Simon and Blaise with occasional appearances by Salima. She is with the music teacher when Simon and Blaise go to a room to make love. The ending is very predictable but I thought contrived and the way Simon acted going to "try again" with his ex did not exactly scream true love. This is an improvement over the last few books but I wish Salima had gotten more attention in the book.
I have read better Danielle Steel books and I have read worse. It is interesting how someone can be in a routine with their life and then things change and its how you cope with the changes that makes life interesting. When Blaize and Salima are comforted with change they resist it at first and then they start to enjoy the change. Then change happens again, this time it is not good because the teacher wants to try and work things out with a former girlfriend. There are a few chapters in the middle of the book, I just wanted to skip. In fact I read the end of the book to see how it would work out and then I went back to the middle of the book to see how the story would unfold. I am in the process of taking graduate classes so I look at this as a lite read, a form of escape for a little while,.
