This was such a powerful story of the redemptive power of Christ all wrapped up in a 100 page novella. The romance was sweet and believable. Having been born and raised in the US, the traditions and culture of the English was just as I imagined. I loved how both Magnolia and Davis put their trust in the Lord and relied on his guidance. We get to meet some of Magnolia's sisters, which sets the series up (I assume) for their romance stories. I look forward to their stories and possibly meeting Davis' prodigal brother.I was gifted an ARC of the Love Blossoms Anthology in exchange for my honest opinion. A match for Magnolia is one of seven stories that make up this anthology.
A Match For Magnolia, written by Marion Ueckerman, is the first book I've read by this author. I definitely would like to follow this authors progression in her books. Magnolia Blume is from a family of a horticulturist who named each of his daughter flower names...a cute touch for a bunch of Blumes. I believe my favorite character in this book was Lord Davis Rathbone. He was a baron...Magnolia a commoner...he fell for Magnolia, but Davis has a terrible past, less the last 3 yrs... A sweet read of love at first sight...for Davis at least! Would Magnolia be able to find it in herself to actually fall for him? I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest review.
I have read this author's books in other collections and read this one as part of the Love Blossoms collection. I think this has been my favorite. I thought to begin with this was historical, but was pleasantly surprised when it wasn't. A clear picture of how love can triumph through prayer, understanding, and communication. I really hope the other books in this series are about the other sisters and would love to know more about the parents as well. Becoming a big fan of this author.
A Match for Magnolia is a wonderful story! The author has re-told the story of Cinderella giving it a modern twist and combined it with wonderful characters and a story picturing how God's love and forgiveness offers His children a second chance at life and finding love. The result is a delightful and heartwarming story that I thoroughly enjoyed. I was given an e-copy of this book in return for an honest review.
