Fiction in a non-fiction book about on dinosaurs.In this unique 40-page picture book, I liked the original point of view presenting dinosaurs as dancers. The author succeeded writing a story in a non-fiction book. The illustrator draw fabulous, and hilarious dance of dinosaurs. In the second part of this book, I learned a lot on these animals. The author wrote both dinosaurs name and how to pronounce them. There is a song available to dance with the dinosaurs!Highly recommended for dinosaurs lovers. Ideal for 6 to 8-year-old readers. In the second part of the book, first readers will need some help to read and understand concepts.The author gave me her book for an honest review.
When Dinosaurs go Dancing by Judy Cook is an adorable explanation of how the dinosaurs left their footprints behind. This story explores the different possible dances they could have been doing at the time the prints were made. The illustrations are precious. However this story isn't all fun and games. It gives historical facts about the dances, dinosaurs, and fossils. It would be a great addition to a child’s bookshelf or classroom library. Five stars
This is a great picture book that is very informative, but also a lot of fun. The illustrations are exceptional and really bring the book to life. The variation of text font and size is a nice perk that helps the reader add voice and expression. This is a fun story that I think would be effective in a preschool, Kindergarten or first grade class. Some kids will enjoy the fun aspect of the "dinosaurs going dancing," and others will really get into the facts about dinosaurs and different types of dances. It's a good one - add it to your list!
We all have a favourite book from our childhood. When I grabbed this book as a last minute gift for my 5 yr old grandson, I would never have predicted it would be this book. We're ready for a hard copy as he takes it everywhere, from the beach to the bath. The illustrations are a delight, and we've enjoyed watching him pirouette and bunny-hop around the house inspired by the fantasy of dancing dinosaurs. A great idea to mix art and science.
What a GREAT book for young kids! The 5 year old dinosaur enthusiast and the 8 year old dancer in our family are both equally enchanted by the cute story and loveable illustrations. The kicker is that the back of the book contains all kinds of dinosaur facts, which are as interesting and engaging as the story itself. Looking forward to seeing more from this author!
