Danielle Steel novels are always starkly hit or miss for me. After reading a couple of her books recently (Hotel V, 44 Charles St.) that were a big miss, I was reluctant to get Until The End Of Time. After all, someone who has been around as long as Danielle Steel and has been as prolific surely has to burn out eventually, right? But, I've been sick and looking for a good, easy read, because I can't stand looking at the TV anymore. So, I figured I'd give it a shot. And I'm so glad I did. I finished it in one and a half sittings and thoroughly enjoyed it, refusing to let a 103 fever keep me from finishing. The characters were likable, it was well paced, well written, and I'm happy to say Danielle Steel's still got it. It was a little sappy, yeah, but you should already know that getting into it. It's not like we're discussing Tolstoy here.I've read a couple of people say that they think this might be Danielle Steel's last novel. I truly hope not. But if that's what she decides, she can be proud to end on such a high note. Now if you'll excuse me, NyQuil and a long nap are calling.
I've read many Danielle Steel books, but its been awhile since I've enjoyed one as much as this one. I grew up in Lancaster County and although there were a couple of things that weren't exactly accurate for the Amish, most of it was accurate. Some of her latest books seemed very superficial and not about normal, average people, but this was a nice addition to her extensive catalog of stories.I give this book a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
I like the way DS write, have read her books for years and year. Still have to say Wanderlust is one of my all time favorites, but most have a good plot, nicely fleshed out, and always a good easy read!
Two great stories, and both very different. I have always loved Danielle Steels books and this is another great one.
Danielle Steel is a terrific writer keeping you interested till the end. I would recommend this to 30 plus people
I will confess, the last few years of Danielle Steel's books have been for the most part, a huge disappointment to me. The stories were fluffy, over the top, repetitive, and bore no resemblance to the author I once thought could do no wrong. I found myself becoming enormously irritated with her for 'sleeping through the job.' But this book was her redemption in my eyes. The characters were well written & shared beautiful chemisty, and I loved the simple Amish love story told in the second half. Furthermore, I was enormously intrigued by the plot that tied together the two stories. I am very much a paranormal lover, and the notion of reincarnation is something that strikes a chord with me. She told the story very well. My only complaint is that it had to end. But it ended beautifully.
I have been reading Danielle Steel for years - ever since her first book. She grew as an author, and then for about 5 years she wrote the most incredible novels. Then, something happened, in my opinion, and her books were too predictable, hurried at the end, and just weren't very good.I am glad to say that Danielle is back! This is a great book - I enjoyed every page of it and even didn't mind paying $13+ for it on Kindle. Great love story, a bit predictable, but a wonderful story. Don't miss this one.
I have and have now read (at least till July), every book Danielle has ever written. This book broke my heart for awhile and then glued it back together with this great story. Another awesome story but that didn't surprise me at all. If I had to pick a favorite book by Danielle, I couldn't do it as I love them all. Can't wait for her new one in July.
