I love this new mystery-solving duo, Carlita and her daughter Mercedes, who are living whole new lives now. The characters in each of Hope Challaghan's books are great role models with appropriate situations for any age. The mysteries are never predictable and always have enough twists and turns to keep the reader fully engaged to the end. In Justice in Savannah, Carlita has to figure out who is trying to sabotage her new business and who is vandalizing their neighborhood. There is also an unpleasant but interesting new tenant, Elvira, who is very strange and so unlikable living in their newly remodeled apartment building. It will be interesting to see how Carlita deals with the complaining, rule-breaking Elvira in her next mystery adventure (which I can hardly wait to read!) I thoroughly enjoy reading this series with its tongue-in-cheek humor sprinkled liberally throughout...and of course, I'm always delighted with the recipe at the end of each book that I get to try as part of the story. This is the third installment in the Made in Savannah series. And another home run for Hope Callaghan. Her new character, Elvira is a hoot.She livens up the series. No murder in this book, but plenty of mayhem. Carlita and her daughter Mercedes now have to discover who is vandalizing Washington Square and trying to keep them from getting their business license. There are lots of twists and turns and a real surprise when they find out exactly who Elvira is. Or who she works for. She really knows how to put a story together. I cannot wait to see what Hope has in store for Elvira. What will she get into next?This new book is definitely worth reading. All of Hope's books are so entertaining and this one does not disappoint. And all her characters are so well developed.Such a fun, easy read.I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review.
Write faster, Hope! Make the books lonnnnggggeeerrrr! You left me hanging and I want .....more!Seriously, I couldn't imagine liking a series about Mafia women, but now I'm waiting for book #4 to come out....and another Garden Girls book...and another cruise ship book......Thanx for another good read!
I really like the books in this series. Carlita is a spunky widow, who, for the first time in her life, is in charge of her future. Meredith, the daughter, is also trying her wings for the first time. Looking forward to book 4 to see what is next for these two ladies.
I loved this book! This one didn't center around a murder, it was more of a mystery revolving around who was doing this and doing that. It was different from the first two books and I think it was very good, I didn't want it to end just like the other ones. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!! Keep them coming, love this author!!!
This book is available right now for just 99 cents and if you do not grab it you are making a serious mistake. The third in the Savannah series only gets better and better and I am enthusiastically waiting for more. Of course, there are other series that Hope Callaghan writes that I'd also like to see more of so it is hard to ask for so much, however if you haven't read this series you will be really missing something. I get a real kick out of the rather unusual mother-daughter team and a slightly different kind of cosy than her others. This is an author who is growing rapidly in both ability to create a story and ability to write characters you get so personally involved with. I find myself rather sad when I reach the end because I hate leaving the characters. I am waiting with bated breath to see more of the sons/brother who are still hanging out up in Jersey... Yes, I did receive this book at no charge in exchange for an honest review, but giving a good review on this series is certainly easy to do.
“Justice in Savannah” is Book 3 in the Made in Savannah Cozy Mysteries Series. I love reading Hope Callaghan's Cozy Mysteries books and this one is another hit. This time Carlita and Mercedes Garlucci find themselves, along with other businesses near by, being vandalized. Several of the store owners take it upon themselves to try and discover who the vandal is. Carlita has also rented out 2 of her apartments and is having second thoughts about renting to the tenant Elvira as she quickly becomes a royal pain. Carlita is also still waiting for her permit to be approved so she can open her pawn shop but the local officials are taking forever in granting the permit.....did they perhaps find out about her husband's past? Will this hurt Carlita's chances of getting a permit? This was another great read by Hope Callaghan and I can't wait for the next book in the series. I highly recommend all of Ms. Callaghan's books.I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
This is a good read. A mystery without a body! It is really refreshing to have a mystery that doesn't involve dead bodies or national security type problems. I love that the mystery is who is vandalizing the neoghborhood.I'm really looking forward to the next installment of Carlitta and Mercedes lives!
