I enjoyed this story but felt that the author could've flushed out the story more. I reached 66% on my kindle and the story was over. I will definitely read other stories by this author. I just hope that she will develop her stories more in the future.
This story has a little of everything in it. There is suspense, sadness, and a lot of twists and turns. I could not set this aside until I has finished reading the book. I really feel this book deserves the five-star rating.
I enjoy reading this clean, inspirational, western, mail order romance. As you progress through the short novel it gets more and more exciting. Author did good job of packing so much into such a little package. The heroine was especially a very strong female lead. She went through so much but yet kept on fighting. She was also very smart in realizing what good match hero was for her. Hero was perfect for heroine and I can see them making a great life together. The ending was so good. It was so imperfect it was perfect. It is a short novella but very well written. I was right along with characters and was very happy with the realism the author gave the story, yet provided with escapism I seek when I read a book. I would recommend if you are looking for short novel that has elements of love building between two great main characters, reading about hard life in the west, dramatic chase to save peoples lives in more ways than one, action, suspense (will they succeed?!?!) and great ending.
The Accidental Fiance was completely different then most mail order brides. The story held my attention and I wanted to know the ending. For me the characters were not believable. Having spent time in the higher elevations of mountains I don't believe that a lone girl could make it on her own under the conditions in the story. I was lost once on the East side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains just below timber line. I had four elementary children with me and I waited until I heard the voices of the men in our party calling from a distance. This was not in a blinding snow and ice storm like the characters had to fight. Read the book for the fun of it. It is a good book to read and relax with.
EMILY Mortensen had to live with an aunt who knew nothing about children and used Emily to do nothing but work from morning to night. From the age if eleven until her aunt aS sweet talked into marriage, she now sent Emily to marry Ernest Harvard. The place she goes to in hardly even a town and the Ernest acts like he does not know her. He had a picture of her but she only knew of his name. This story takes a strange turn in events for this young women, you need to read it.
