I was drawn in from the first page and had to force myself to stop reading so I could help the kids with homework. I was touched by Samantha's loyalty to her family and how she was willing to risk everything to help them. The love triangle totally reminded me of the movie Titanic. Also, I've lived in Hawaii and have spent a great deal of time on the North Shore of Oahu! Turtle Bay is one of my most favorite places and I could tell the authors really knew their stuff. Great job! I look forward to reading more books from Youngblood and Poole.
I'm a huge fan of Youngblood and Poole's romantic suspense books so I was thrilled to see they had a clean romance out. This book was fabulous. The heroine is such a sweetheart and willing to sacrifice herself for her family. You don't see that kind of loyalty and love often. The hero... ah, he was just dreamy and I kept hoping and praying he wouldn't give up on her. Don't miss out on this book!
I didn't really like this book. The so-called h lied and cheated throughout the book. Her situation did not justify her actions. In fact, it was all too unbelievable. I felt absolutely no empathy for her or her family. I also had a problem with the writing. How many times do we have to read in reviews that there is too much telling and not enough showing? A good editor would have made the author rewrite the scenes that told us what was going on. I just skimmed through them because they were boring. I've read all of the previous books, and this one was a disappointment.
This book was my least favorite of the series so far. Ok, I know it's fictional and I can suspend belief up to a point...this book was just TOO unbelievable. I also had a hard time even liking the main characters. Not one I'd reread.
